Teaching

I have been involved in teaching since 2007. Since 2026, I have been acting as Academic Director of the B.Sc. Social Sciences undergraduate program in my department. I am formally trained and certified to teach at Dutch universities (BKO Basiskwalificatie Onderwijs).

As a sociologist and a teacher, I see my task as challenging and guiding students in the pursuit of three overarching learning goals:

• Excite students about societal topics and instill the ability to think sociologically,
• Cultivate an appreciation and understanding of scientific methods,
• Provide fundamental knowledge and tools applicable to students’ future careers.

In addition to teaching at the university, I have been a mentor in multiple mentoring programs, for example, in the Leibniz Association and in the RWTH Aachen University program.
